Some facts about the distance involved...

- The International Cometary Explorer (ICE), made the first ever direct cometary measurements on September 11, 1985 as it flew through the tail of Comet Giacobini-Zinner. The spacecraft encountered a comet ion tail about 25,000 km wide.

- The non-interstate portions of the Strategic Highway Corridor Network in the US total 25,000km.

- Apparently a lot of scooters in Japan have an engine life of 25,000km and are simply abandoned after this.

- The length of the Great Red Spot on Jupiter is about 25,000km.

- It would take about 25,000km of driving to recoup the cost of a $1,400 factory LPG installation. -

- Australian vineyards require the construction of about 25,000km of trellis per year.
